Trencher Paves For 'Newt' Fencing

Kent-based SWS Countryside and Conservation Management Services hired a Toro TX525 Dingo and operator to dig out over 200 metres of trench for the installation of perimeter fencing around a housing development scheme prior to work commencing.

Owner Matt Craig commented: “We found Trencher Hire via their website and needed the trench to go 200mm into the ground. The work was carried out on a site in Maidstone and the barriers being installed were ‘newt’ fencing. These were being put in place to create an exclusion zone to the construction site for great crested newts and reptiles; to protect these protected species.

“We were very pleased with Trencher Hire – the operator knew what he was doing and it didn’t take him very long at all.”

SWS offers a wide range of countryside and land management services across both residential and commercial sectors. Their work encompasses tree, woodland and conservation management; fencing and hedgerows, grounds maintenance, fisheries and pond services.
