Trencher Hire 'Swings' Into Action

Trencher Hire UK came to the rescue of Perton Park Golf Club in Wolverhampton after the existing course water main had developed multiple leaks and needed urgent attention.

For the club, which prides itself on its excellent greens, this was an emergency. Course Manager Andy Jones was delighted with our response – providing an operator and Vermeer RTX-250 trenching machine at short notice. In the space of a day, a 500 metres long trench - dug to a depth of 500mm - had been completed.

Andy commented: “We are a clay-based golf course that includes some stones, so is not the easiest to work with and this, coupled with the dry spell of weather in June, had made the ground rock hard. The Vermeer trencher did really well and the single trench spanned from around the back of a shed on the range, through to the front of the first tee and at the back of the 18th and 9th greens, before meeting-up with the original mains system.”
